ATLAS PEAK

Located high above the fog, on the mountain slopes Napa Valley’s majestic Atlas Peak, the Edcora is directly adjacent to the famed Stagecoach Vineyard and features 116 sustainable and organically certified acres of vines. Edcora’s classically structured wines have earned acclaim for their beauty, balance and age-worthiness.

The vineyard ranges in elevation from 1300 to 1600 feet in Foss Valley – a part of Atlas Peak. While only approximately 6 miles from the Silverado Trail and the main Napa Valley floor, it feels worlds away. From the highest point in their vineyards the cars to the west on Highway 29 look like ants in the far distance. Views aside, the vineyard produces world class wines as well as plenty of rocks as literally millions of pounds of rock had to be excavated from the various vineyard sites.

Tasting Notes: A very impressive wine that hearkens back to the early days of the Napa Valley, when age-worthy structure and balance were king. Intense berry fruit aromas are joined by notes of fig, baker’s chocolate and savory hints of meat and dried herbs. It’s all there on the palate, with a rich earthy character in front at present that will feather itself into the mix with further aging. Perfectly balanced, nuanced and thought provoking, and a definite cellar trophy.
